En route to Grenada

En route to Grenada

On the way to Grenada we stopped to check out windmills and a castle in the Spanish countryside.  Wolfe was not a happy camper that morning so first thing I fed him behind a windmill, then we explored the windmills and castle.  One of the windmills you could go in and climb a spiral staircase up to top and see the old large wooden gears.  The windmills were used to grind wheat.  We also explored the castle, which was pretty cool.  Beautiful views from the top and after a quick diaper change and some photos we headed down just as the castle was closing for afternoon siesta at around 2pm.

The Spanish schedule made site seeing and eating difficult at times.  We tended not to get going very early in the morning, so wanted to see things or eat during the afternoon which is when most shops, restaurants, and some attractions are closed.  Restaurants usually reopen around 7pm or later and then stay open until at least midnight.  We ended up cooking in our apartments most of the time or getting street food when we could.  With the late dinner schedule and Wolfe, it was pretty hard to sit down in a restaurant and expect Wolfe to last through a meal.  Cooking in the apartment was easier and saved some money as the restaurants are pretty pricey in Spain.  Also the Spanish tend to march to a slower drum and meals in restaurants tend be longer affairs, probably great if you live there but if you are trying to do a lot and see a lot eating meals out sucks up your time.
