Ronda y el medico
We spent three nights in Ronda, another cool medieval city. The first day was kind of a catch up day, organizing and doing laundry. That evening we walked along the gorge, Ronda is on the top of a gorge with a famous bridge and river below, it was too late to go down to the bottom. The next day we explored the palace gardens and mine which goes all the way down to the river, it was really cool taking these dark tunnels with spiral stone staircases down to the river. We hiked around town and down another trail to get the quintessential Ronda bridge view. Ate a lot of ice cream in Ronda, found a good bakery with little pizzas, and ate at a great little kabab place Sunday night when grocery stores were closed.
In what seems to be a trend for our vacations we ended up going to the hospital in Ronda on our last day. Kurt had an infection on his arm near the armpit, probably from carrying Wolfe in the Bjorne or from the backpack, we had drained it and got him antibiotics, but now he had a red golf ball size area below the infected area that was increasingly painful. Manual who we rented the apartment from took Kurt to the clinic that morning while I stayed with the kids, but the doctors told him to go to the hospital so they came back and we all loaded up to go to the hospital. After another parking debacle and a couple hours waiting they had opened up the abcess drained it and we were on our way, however it was a pretty big and would need return visits to clean and repack...someday we'll have a medic free trip but not this one! Ronda was great and we wish we had another night, off to Segovia next by way of Casaraes.
