Wolfe is a Big Boy!
Big news today, Wolfe peed in the potty today! Not only that, but he told me had to go and asked to get out of the bath so he could go! He’s getting so big and doing all kinds of things.
This was kind of a mild winter and I wish we got Wolfe out more. We did go cross country skiing at Grande Lake and took him on a tubing hill which he really seemed to like. Getting Wolfe to sleep in a different bed in the rental was pretty tough though. There were a few times he was out helping shovel snow and we made a snowman. We just didn’t get too much snow in Denver it’s mainly just been cold out so we’ve been hanging inside.
So backtracking a bit since it’s been way too long since I posted. Wolfe made a trip to Buffalo for Thanksgiving to see Grandma and Grandpa. He had a great time and with Buffalo weather we got some snow and he got to do some sledding! Also he’s also had a couple haircuts, which tend to destroy his beautiful curls so you’ll see in some of the pics his shorter less curly hair.
Wolfe went to Hawaii for Christmas so we need to add the Hawaii 2019 post, but we did celebrate at home and put up our tree and opened presents. Wolfe was big enough to understand and was excited to rip open his presents!
He really likes being outside, so we try to get out when the weather is good enough. He likes going to Marcy Park which is just down the road from our house so we end up going to the park lots of weekend. Here’s a semi warm day in March at the park.
He’s a dare devil at the playground and will climb up everything, even the tallest ladders. He even does the zip line. He likes walking around on the top of the blocks around an area with some trees at the park entrance that gets progressively higher as you go around and is about at my shoulders. He is doing good on his tricycle and can peddle himself, he still needs help steering, but he’s getting the hang of it. His vocabulary has exploded and he can say most anything he wants. He’s really proud of all the trucks he knows, he’ll say stuff like telescopic handler or skid steer loader! He’s also been doing these long jumps off the couch, he’s got really good form.
We took down the railings on his crib a while ago, and he used to stay in bed when we put him down, but now he’s figured out he can just get out of bed and walk up stairs, so we’re now stuggling with bed time and nap time. A couple nights ago he came up 3 times between 3 and 4 am and climbed into my bed. I took him back down and eventually he fell asleep in his own bed.
He’s kind of a picky eater, but we’re working on it. He likes baked salmon and wolfs it down when I make it! Breakfast is usually waffles or eggs. He likes noodles and bread which he wouldn’t eat for a long time. We’re working on vegetables, he’s cooled off on broccoli, but likes green beans. He generally likes fruit and eats pineapple, oranges, and applesauce. He really like the frozen berries I get for smoothies and will eat bowls of frozen cherries or frozen blueberries. We’ve phased out yogurt since most have a lot of sugar and usually have cottage cheese instead. Chicken nuggets and hotdogs are still lunch staples. He likes nuts and eats peanuts, almonds, cashews, really most nuts.
It’s funny we’re sitting here in the kitchen listening to music and he is repeating parts of the songs….like “maybe tomorrow” and “turns full circle.” He’s getting better about playing on his own, but still wants to play and interact with us when we’re home so not much gets done except the compulsory tasks like dishes. He has a card game with trucks on them and you have to turn over the cards and look for matches and he’s pretty good at it! He has a little puppy, Muffy, with a light purple ribbon around its neck that he really likes and takes to bed. He still has Wolfe and Leo, two of his favorite stuffed animals. He likes his tag blanket, a little blanket with a tiny tiny scraggly tag that is about to fall off! He’s doing great and is a happy which is what matters the most. We’re not getting enough pictures, but here’s some more, mostly from daycare.
